The registrated geographical indication of local food products give the opportunity to know the cultural, historical, political, social and natural characteristics of the products belonging to the region, and also contributes to gastronomy tourism. In this study, the attitude of local people towards gastronomy tourism by registering local food products reflecting Isparta cuisine culture with geographical indications was examined. As a result of the field research conducted in Isparta province, a questionnaire was applied to 451 participants. The hypotheses of the research were analyzed with the Mann-Whitney U Test and the Kruskal-Wallis Test. As a result of the research, the attitudes of the local people towards the geographical indication of the gastronomic products specific to the region; It has been revealed that it enables future generations to recognize the product, is important for the promotion of the province, emphasizes that the products are specific to the region, and strengthens the economy of the province. In addition, it was found that the majority of the participants knew about geographical indication of food products, but they were undecided about paying more for these products. In addition, it was concluded that the consumption of geographical indication of food products at home and outside was once or twice a month.
